A meow is heard on the bedroom in the morning, I cannot say if it is already morning as the windows are still closed. The small rays of light that managed to make their way in revealed that it was a simple room, belonging to a teenager simple as well.

The meows keep repeating and I feel little paws walking over my body. It was Mila, my cat stomping with their light feet and meowing, trying to wake me up.

- Hum… Mila it is still early… let me sleep a bit more… - grumbled lazily, without even opening my eyes.

She insisted, this time jumping all over me, if she was bigger she would have kicked me out of the bed, but that was not the case:

- Alright, alright! I am already awake! – I stood up awkwardly, making the blankets fly to the side totally covering Mila. I looked at the clock and just as usual…
- Oh my god! I am late again! – then left the be with a jump, followed by Mila that got out from under the bed sheets muttering in meows for me covering her head (and all the body).

I dressed myself and ran downstairs to prepare breakfast. Even though I had a family, I was a rather forgotten being on that house (not only at home, believe me…). I am used to work things out since I was very little. I prepared my coffee with bread and butter and filled Mila's food bowl, which was already waiting behind me for a good time now. She let out a big meow and began eating, while I did the same. As soon as I finished, I took my bag and bid Mila farewell as I was going to school.

Oh, I am Nikky, pleasure to meet you! (If that interests you, of course…). I live on the White Wing Island, a very exotic place, not far from the continent. I don't know why, people from all around the world love to visit here, end up falling in love and moving. So in the same street you will find people from all kinds of countries and complete different cultures sharing the same block. Not to mention names, man there is one more unique than the other, and that is pretty common too…

I live on the south part of the isle, a calm place, always the same stagnation… here we have shops, fairs, parks, woods, parties directly for all races that lived here, if I remember correctly, every weekend there is a different one, and that brings lots of tourists here.

Our beaches are marvelous, even though I am really shy to wear a bikini and enter the water…  I know none would notice my presence, it is still embarrassing…

The history of our island is a bit mystical. My local history teacher told us a native tribe believed that this island was created by a light being that looked like an eagle with lizard head and a lion's body. It neared the water and said: "Land raise from the water" and that was done. The locals said that the isle looked like a immense wing lifting from the water, that's why the island name. so that being, cultured as a God, ordered that every plant and animal were placed in there, to fill the place that is now sacred. Up to now lots of people take that story very seriously, we have a big reserve of animal in the island, which is a big tourist attraction.

I think this is a weird place indeed, I cannot say if it is mystical and magic as it are the legends told, after all I never saw anything around here… people think of this place more like somewhere to spend vacations than anything else thanks to the beauty of the place…

Another place that is really admired is the mountain in the middle of the island, very high and always covered by clouds, people call that "God's belvedere". There is a lot of people that try to climb that place, but report that near the top there is a very weird sensation and never manage to reach the top… it probably is another superstition.

I forgot to mention that this island is pretty big, and have 2 big bridges that connect to the main land; one to the north another to the south, and dozens ports, the main one and some minor ones, for all the ships that come and go all the time.

Now what I really like about here? The animals, of course! Don't call me crazy please, but I can understand them, and them, me. Well, they already began thinking I am indeed crazy, and that is why none wants to talk to me… whatever! That is the truth, they are my one and only friends… had few human friends, but they, one way or another, left the island… so the only ones remaining were them, the animals…

Talking about them, the first ones to greet me are the insects on the garden. There is always passing on the street whenever I am talking to them, and at the very least they might think I am a crazy someone that talks to herself.

And it is like that up to when I arrive at school. I meet various animals that greet me, as humans barely look me. I feel transparent.

Riving there, I go straight to the classroom to get ready for another day of studies. Venus school is a very old around here, being practically the first school built around a long long time ago… here study young people from various races, it isn't uncommon to find a Japanese and an African on the same hall.

I would have a normal class day, if it wasn't for the fact that that person irritates me, as always indirectly, but to anger me. Every school has its popular girl, and on mine it wouldn't be different.

Ella is a tall girl with a defined body, actually too well defined for her age, as she as old as I (I am 16). A pair of dark blue eyes and long flowing blond hair, always perfects and meticulously set up; not even a hair out of it's place. She dresses with fashion clothing that people only see on famous models. Well, physically she is perfect. Don't be fooled though, she is not the typical "gorgeous outside" and "dumb insides", to just to make it worse, she is very intelligent! And that makes me even more frustrated, because today, on the history class, they were talking about my favorite subject: Ancient Egypt.

It would be all perfect if the teacher hadn't asked something to what I knew the answer and instinctively raised my hand to reply. But obviously he didn't see me and who answered the question? Ella for sure! That simply destroyed my day.

I began wondering why I was so ignored like that, and how that made me unhappy. Why it had to be like that?

When the classes ended I thought on going back home, but soon the image of my family that would barely say me "Good morning" and "Good afternoon". I was with my head so full of thoughts; angst and rage that I decided to take a walk around before heading home.

Everything was always equal, so no surprises. Kids were playing on the park as always, people were doing shopping and walking with their bags; tourists walking around with their cameras… but what seemed like an everyday walk, soon turned to be a big surprise that would completely change my life.

As soon as I walked the corner, I noticed something was really, but really different; for some years now there was a construction that was practically abandoned, and was in very bad conditions. On my mind, the only thing left to do was to demolish that place, as it didn't have a roof any longer and some walls were missing. It was an old house baroque style, two store with those big windows, that now were holes that allowed us to see its degenerated insides.

Needless to mention my surprise that there, on that same spot, there was a totally brand new store, and the building was completely restored, as in a miracle! It would be impossible to fix that in so little time!

Very curious and alert, I neared the shop, still not understanding how that was even possible. As I approached it, I noticed that the merchandise on showcase and a big smile formed in my face. They were antiques!

I began wondering with myself the possibility of having Egyptian art, as I noticed a wide variety of several historical periods on that showcase. In matter of moments I was in front of the door, ready to enter and satisfy my curiosity.

As soon as I opened the door, I heard the sound of bells, it was a very pleasant melody, and then I expected that someone would show up. Right beside the door there was a manekineko (lucky Japanese cat) taller than me, actually I never had seen someone this big, it also had its left paw raised. Beside the cat was the shop bar, but empty without anyone near.

I noticed that the inner part of the shop looked much bigger than the outside, as there were lots of room on the back part, and one of them drew my attention:

- Egyptian art! – I could not hold myself and went direct there. That was my dream room! Everything that one can imagine in artifacts, vases, statues and Egyptian objects were there, and all of them at the reach of my eyes! Not near my pocket though.

I looked at every object with eyes that sparked fascination and happiness, until I faced on of them that really drew my attention. It was a small stone cat, but not regular stone: it shined. That glow penetrated my eyes and something spoke to my mind. I needed to have that cat!

As it was a very small object, smaller than my palm, I thought it was inexpensive, and that I would be able to afford it. But looking at the price tag, my world crumbled: it was utterly expensive!

I stood there sighing with it on my hands and seeing my hopes go down the drain… oh the sweet dreams of one transparent little girl…

But soon my laments were abruptly interrupted by a voice that simply appeared out of nowhere:
